World Vision is one of the largest relief, development and advocacy non-governmental organisations in the world. In 2009, World Vision is working in about 100 countries / areas, with USD 2.58 billion in cash and goods for its work being raised. More than 100 million people benefited from our projects, within which there were a total of 3.8 million sponsored children worldwide.
As of September 2009, World Vision implemented relief and development projects in 18 provinces / municipalities / autonomous regions, benefiting 3,747,000 people in China. The number of Child-focused Area Development Programmes was 37 and 78,988 children were under sponsorship. From 1989 to 2009, funds worth about RMB 1.5 billion (USD 200 million) were used in different projects in China.
Since its inception in 1950, World Vision has been helping the poor become self-reliant and achieve sustainable development in the long run through Child-focused Area Development Programmes, relief and rehabilitation, education, health, agro-forestry, orphans care, programmes for children in especially difficult circumstances and urban ministry.
To ensure the quality of our projects, they are organised, implemented and monitored by World Vision's staff.
